Rebuilding Borno Post-Insurgency Phase: Gov. Zulum Launched Over N1.5b Scholarships for Nurses, Midwives Students Drawn from 27 LGAs

from the inception of Gov. Zulum-led government, over 6 billion were disbursed as scholarships for students; approved sponsorship for all graduates to pursue degree courses

Additional  College of Nursing in Gwoza and Monguno will start soon


The Provost of College of Nursing Sciences, stated that as part of Governor Zulum's radical transformation agenda to improve quality health care service in Borno, he sponsored nurses and midwives, many of whom are girl-child. She further echoed that the College of Nursing Science has recorded many infrastructural developments

The Hon. Commissioner of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe, in his remark, stated that over 6 billion was disbursed since its inception as a scholarship to Borno indigenes by Zulum's administration for both local and international students.

The National Nursing Council appreciated the efforts of Gov Zulum for making nursing education accessible and affordable to the students, especially for the girl-child, despite the trouble for over a decade. However, Nigerians are not surprise for such gigantic achievements because of the religious dedication of the governor 

Earlier in his speech, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, his resolute to provide quality education to all Borno indigenes irrespective of their backgraound or status. This has prompted his desire to    ensure the all-inclusive process of identifying students from their locality for the scholarship. 

All students will be receiving stipend and under 5 year bond for servicing their locality. An automated employment was also granted. In addition to these, a special package of 100,000 was equally approved for all, each student would go home with 100,000 as special package
