Governor Bala Performed Well in Health Sector--Comm. Health
By Adamu IMAM Bauchi
Bala Mohammed has shown his exemplary leadership in transforming the health sector, because I cannot recall a governor who said let's have a summit, let's call all the brains in the world that would talk to us about health in Bauchi state.
The state commissioner of health Dr. Adamu Umar Sambo stated this on Friday at the Momentum Safe Surgery in Family Planning and Obstetrics meeting organized and supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) held at the Chartwell Hotel Bauchi.
Dr. Sambo added that, Governor Bala's giant stride in the health sector cannot be over estimated "we chart a pathway and bring a roadmap that would transform healthcare delivery in the state like what this governor is doing, as like I said in several fora, both either from the state side as the implementor of healthcare delivery, or as those who come to support us in different partnerships, we have no options than to deliver", he emphasized
He urged the beneficiaries of momentum safe surgery to use the advantage they got during the project to compliment health services in the state, while appreciating the gesture from the organizers of momentum safe surgery for USAID he thanked all stakeholders that attended the meeting.
In his remark the executive chairman Hospital Management Board Dr. Mohammed Sambo Alkali says, since the inception of USAID Momentum Safe Surgery Project our facility have led the implementation of innovative strategies and best practices to improve maternal and child health outcomes, through dedicated efforts,
we have seen significant improvements in the quality of care, especially in maternal child health and safe caesarean deliveries.
He added that, these initiative have saved lives and restored hope and dignity to many individuals and families in our communities
The adoption of the ROBSON classification system, the World Health Organization WHO surgical checklist, and efforts in fistula repairs and continuous capacity building for healthcare workers have made a lasting impact on Bauchi state's healthcare landscape, he stated.
Alkali further reminded the participants that, "as we reflect on our achievements address challenges, and plan for the future, let us remain guided by the principles of excellence, collaboration and compassion.
Let us draw inspiration from our progress and renew commitment to ensuring universal access to quality healthcare for all citizens of Bauchi state"
