Loyalty to Governor Will not Compromise Constitutional Mandate-- Bauchi Speaker

Bauchi State House of Assembly speaker Rt.Hon Dr Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Dan Galadiman Ningi), posted on his verified Facebook account expressing his loyalty and cordial relationship with His Excellency, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (Kauran Bauchi), the Bauchi state governor recently,
Acting Spokesperson of the speaker Mukhtar Garba Kobi in a press statement released to journalist on Sunday, saying the posting has generated both positive and negative comments, especially from the oppositions who are, because of their selfish political interest, not happy with the existing executive-legislature mutual co-operation in the state, as a aresult of which, numerous developmental projects are being executed in the state by the present administration.
According to him, all they want is to see the two arms at logger-heads at the detriment of the people of in the state.
The statement further explained that, "the speaker's position, which is his personal opinion that he is entitled to, was an expression of his excitement as a result of the Governor's excellent execution of numerous developmental projects across the state, especially his local government area".
In addition, "the governor has, on several occasions, in his official speeches, recognised the speaker as his boss, what then is wrong if the speaker reciprocates and says the governor is his boss and leader" he stressed.
Furthermore, the Speaker is assuring the good people of the state that his loyalty to the Governor will not in any way compromise or affect the discharge of his official and constitutional responsibility as a member and speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly.
While reiterating that the politically motivated accusations are baseless, "I wish to call on people to desist from judging leaders based on their personal comments or postings they make. A book should be judged by its content, not by its cover. The legislative arm is committed to serving the people of BauchiState".
