SWAN: President Urges Change Mindset, as New Bauchi Excos Sworn-in

National President Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN Isaiah Benjamin has urged members to change their mindset and be guided by the code of conduct, ethics and operational procedures of the profession
He stated this after observing the long awaited SWAN chapter elections held at the NUJ Secretariat today in Bauchi state.
The election was conducted by the swan election committee (SWANECO) under the chairmanship of Ishola Micheal Adayemi who presided over the election process, pointed out that members should maintain calmness during the process as it is not a do or die affairs election
The swan national president was represented by the northeast zonal Vice Chairman Ahmed Amshi says the election has demonstrated sportsmanship and sprit of togetherness among members for the needed sports development in the state
While commending the former chairmen and the election committee for organizing such an election of the association, said was peacefully and the maturity exhibited throughout the process of the election exercise is another milestone of swan chapter
"We have seen maturity, we have seen an edge over the past chairmen for organizing such election we encourage you to maintain the spirit, we have come to Bauchi and oversee the chapter's election Swan has make significant achievements towards professionalism the association under the current president and the NEC which is committed in ensuring all the provisions of the status, we will continue to abide by despite the fact that we bent some aspect of it, of which is part of the tradition" he maintained.
In his acceptance speech the newly elected chairman of the Swan Bauchi state chapter Bala Bawaji of FRCN Glob fm, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for witnessing the election process after a long debate, he explained that the association would spring even better than before,
Bawaji admonished some unscrupulous elements among members to desist in trying to cause confusion within the chapter, says as chairman and other executive members will not allow personal interest above the state chapter
The election was conducted peacefully with all the positions unopposed except the office of the Vice Chairman contested by Adamu Shehu Imam of Trust Television who scored 12 votes and defeated Abdullahi Shehu Yankari of Bauchi State Television BATV who scored only 2 votes.
