NACOMYO: Stakeholders Advice Weathy Nigerians to Sue for Peace

As the current economic hardship in the country persists, wealthy individuals and organizations have been advised to bring out their wealth and fish out the populace from the prevailing economic challenges.
A Professor of Islamic Banking and Finance from Yobe State University Damaturu, Profeessor Adam Muhammad Abubakar, gave the advice during the 2024 Lecture series of the Bauchi State Chapter of the National Council of Muslim Youths Organizations, NACOMYO, held yesterday at the Sheikh Jafar Mahmud Adam Conference Hall, Gwallaga Juma’at Mosque Bauchi.
Professor Adamu Abubakar who de-emphasized the prioritization of competing in the construction of Mosques in various communities, called on the well-to do to extend their support to those in need in their communities.
He urged NACOMYO to engage in the enlightenment of the people on the significance of adopting the Islamic model of Waqf as the best method of fighting poverty in the society.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Professor Dalhat Bala Sulaiman of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi, observed that one of the major contributing factor to the current economic challenges is the inability of the well-to-do to assist the needy in their midst.
Professor Sulaiman called on the State Sharia’h Commission and other similar organizations to guide the people on how to establish Waqf Foundation to reduce the suffering of the people.
While x-raying the paper, Dr Rabiu Barau Mball of Sa’adu Zungur University Gadau, commended the resource person for identifying the causes of the current economic challenges and their solutions.
Dr Rabiu Barau who expressed concern on the non challant attitude of the people on establishing Waqf in their areas, advised Islamic organizations like NACOMYO to educate and enlighten the people on the importance of such method in the fight against poverty.
Earlier, the Bauchi State Amir of the National Council of Muslim Youths Organizations, NACOMYO, Malam Murtala Muhammad Alamai, said the lecture was part of the organization’s enlightenment program on the fight against Nigeria’s economic challenges.
