Don't Sells Arable Forest, Use it for Agriculture --Gov. Bala Tells Traditional Rulers

Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has warned traditional rulers and community leders to stop selling forests across the state, instead use the land for agricultural activities to inhance food security 

The governor gave the warning during his speech at the flagging-off of 25.88 kilometers Maina Ma'aji-Badara-Kuka-Pali rural road project in Alkaleri local government area on Thursday 

The Governor rather urged them to use the forests for agriculture production as well as other profitable usage stressing that the state is blessed with arable forests. 

The Governor added that, "the area is blessed with natural resources which are gradually attracting investors saying that plans have been completed to establish a cement factory in Gwana district which will offer employment opportunities to the people. 

The Commission for Rural Development and Special Duties, Honourable Farouk Mustapha in his good will massage at the ceremony confirmed that,

"this effort is one of the legacy projects of Bala Mohammed and because of his doggedness no one ever paid wooping amount of money to the tune of N2,000b and 500 million naira as counterpart fund just for Bauchi to benefit, saying no one among the benefiting state for the project in the country has done that, he maintained that especially the rural dwellers as well as the state in general"

He added that, "Bauchi communities are very lucky to have somebody like Bala Mohammed and the governor always tells me that, we are the rural dwellers and we most do something to improve agricultural activities through rural roads and that would encourage business transactions"

And that will open up and attract local investors as well as economic well-being of the people in those benefiting rural populace, and the governor has done what is right, so base on this since yesterday we have started with 115 kilometers in northern senatorial district plus the one in Liman Katagum to Luda last year now is 124 in the whole of Nigeria no states ever has this project"

According to him, not fewer than 200 youths will be employed as truck drivers soon, while many others will be taught welding just as others will be employed as skilled and casual workers.
