UNICEF, Bauchi Plateau Gov's Discussed Way Forward to Improve Lives of Women, Children

United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Bauchi Field Office BFO reassured that no stone will be left unturned as far as improving the living conditions of women and children in Nigeria, in collaboration with Bauchi state Ministry of Economy Budget Planning and Multilateral Coordination 

Dr. Nuzhat Rafique Chief Field Officer (BFO) disclosed this during the 2024 Annual/Programme Review & 2025 -27 WorkPlan Consultations, held at Hazibal Suit Bauchi on Monday.

The aimed of the meeting is to discuss and review performance and achievements recorded so far, and to focus on the way forward on key areas of education, health, nutrition, and social behavioral change as well as wash unit  during the meeting for the next three years WorkPlan.

Hence the need to increase hard work towards addressing challenges affecting them, through husbands and the communities as well.

Rafique stressed the importance of collaborations with government agencies in the two states of Bauchi and Plateau for the 2025-2027 WorkPlan.

"All these work and to support you indicating a better services children of Nigeria to the children of Bauchi and Plateau, and this is the purpose of UNICEF all around the world, this is my first country to come and work"

"all the support from state and the governments we have a lot of children who needs you, we are here to move together as a team and we always stand by all children, vulnerable and the rich, to reach them and provide their basic rights and have access, and you are the mothers and leaders to get it done, 

"With us with supports everyone from donor partners what ever they can support these children all together for this mission this is a mission to reach every child" she emphasized.

The Bauchi state commissioner of Budget isah  Aminu  Hammayo appreciated the support given to state by UNICEF ably represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry saying the state has been given all the counterpart funds in accessing the opportunity for the state, while assuring that the government is ready at all times to provide enabling environment for the good of the entire state.

He assured that the state will continue to to work with relevant agencies and donor partners to achieve the desire objectives of a healthy people adding that with the review, the Ministry will get more chance to incorporate other areas that in the 2025 budget appropriation presented to the state assembly 

The Executive Secretary of Plateau state Primary Healthcare Development Board, Dr Raymond Juryit lauded UNICEF for supporting the state in effective and efficient healthcare service delivery.

He was represented by the Director, Disease Control and Immunization, Dr, Yakubu Dauda Izang assuring that they have  confidence with the support by UNICEF maintaining that has complemented the efforts of the plateau state government.

The ES opined that the review meeting will usher in new opportunity to see what has been done and achieved in the year 2024 and plan for the next project fur proper implementation.
