Bauchi CP Lauds Army, for Improve Civic Military Relations Through Sports

Bauchi state commissioner of police Auawal Mohammed Musa has commended the resilient and dedication of the military personnel for maintaining peace and harmony between it folks and improving the existing civilian military relations despite dounting task in discharging their rudimental responsibility.

The Commissioner of police who was speaking during the final football match of the 3th edition of the 2024 brigade Commander's Cup tournament held at the football field 33 Artillery Brigade Shadawanka barracks Bauchi, on Thursday evening.

The tournament was organized by the brigade commander Brigadier General Egbe to foster unity among military and their host communities and to socialize with one another and promote sports activities within the barracks as well.

Earlier, the Bauchi state commissioner of police was the special guest at the final match between the Guru United and Green Barret FC football clubs, also appreciate the participants commitment with their display and fair play during the final encounter while urging them to use the advantage of sports activities to improve their well-being peace and tranquility.

"It's really heart worming and it's goes a long way to make it much easier furvthe military to assimilate to a certain level with the civilian population within the barracks and beyond, it also goes a long way to mitigate the potentials of our youth involving in crime and criminality, because sporting events make our youth to be very much active to participate in positive and tangible actions in our society," he said.

The chief host Brigadier General E. Egbe in his speech urged the winning team of the Brigade Commander's Football Cup Tournament celebrate their victory with dignity and respect for the losers. 

He emphasized the need for the players to always maintain the importance of coming together as well as sportsmanship among them.

   Second Position Receiving their Trophy 
The tournament which commenced on 1 December and the final place played 19 December 2024 was aimed to bring together young soldiers, youths, and civilian friends to promote sportsmanship, physical fitness, and civil-military cooperation. 

Brigadier General Egbe praised the participating teams for their thrilling matches and for making memories that will last forever.

Brigadier General E. Egbe has urged the winning team at the just concluded Brigade Commander's Football tournament to celebrate victory with dignity and show respect to the losers.

The occasion was graced by several notable personalities, including Top Army Officers High-ranking military officials were in attendance, The commissioner represented the Nigeria Police Force as a special guest at the event.

Representatives of various sister security Agencies  other security agencies were also represent,  showcasing a united front. Traditional Leaders, Respected traditional leaders from the community were present, adding a touch of cultural significance to the occasion.

Guru United, Green Barret FC, and Young Talented FC secured the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions, respectively, with other teams following closely, and individual players and officials received awards and cash tokens in various categories.

Anatarenews gathered that the matchs drew a large crowd of supporters from various host communities and supporter teams within the barracks host communities.
