A group under the auspices of "Not Too Young to Run" in Bauchi State has called on Engineer Shamsudeen Bala Mohammed to contest for the Bauchi South senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

The group's chairman, Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Sharu, made the call at a press conference held at CFA hotel in Bauchi on Sunday.

According to Sharu, the group is urging Shamsudeen to run due to his humble, humane, and strong leadership skills, which make him the preferred candidate for the senatorial district.

He emphasized that their call is not based on Shamsudeen's relationship with the state governor, Bala Mohammed, but rather on his individual merits.

Engineer Ayuba Karofi, the organizing secretary of the group, emphasized the need for candidates with robust plans for youths, stating that the youth population has the power to decide who wins or loses in any election.

“The group threatened to take legal action if Shamsudeen fails to respond to their call.

“We also plan to take their campaign across all 20 local government areas of the state, seeking support from traditional and religious leaders, as well as the youth population,” he said.

The women leader of the group, Hajiya Nafisa Gambo, described Shamsudeen as the best person for the Senate, citing his kindness to women, pregnant women, and children, as well as his empowerment programs.

A member of the group, Aisha Sani Bala, urged Shamsudeen not to refuse the call to contest for the senatorial seat, emphasizing the importance of youth participation in politics.
