Don't Allow the Dogs to Watch Over us--Veteran Task SWAN

Bauchi Sports Writers Association of Nigeria have been charged to always exhibit maturity in the discharging of their expertise as watch dogs of the society and role models.

This was disclosed at the closing ceremony of sports writers association of Nigeria Bauchi state chapter SWAN week by the veteran pioneer media chief executive Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Bello.

He acknowledged that the week long event has demonstrated the Bauchi media outfits are vibrant in sports activities because of the commitment and resilient performance by participating members of the event.

However, he noted that despite the success recorded by the organizers still need more to be done in character and learning for others to copy in the near future.

"My assessment is simply we allow the dogs to watch over us, what I means here is we report sports men and women sometimes we call them names because of their attitudes when they lost I believe one decided to revived this completion in order to give us sense of belongings, come out from your medium and mingle with others to learn few things,"

Pls I want to advice "if you want to talk to about people who are not behaving well during competitions when we come to our own let's try to behave, to my greatest amusement some media executives didn't behave well, some of us say the referee has cheated us, if we the chief executive has shown leadership by example I think that is completely out of order

"When tertiary institutions are awarding certificate they saying we are given this certificate you found in learning and character, if we would only be seeing using our pens but we don't use our character even in fields of Sports we don't have business to write about others.

"Pls I want this to be part of what SWAN would look at when their organizing next completion, award best behavior and team equally punish who have found wanting that is the only way we can improve"

"For me this year is a huge success fur chairman SWAN simply because the usual protest have been minimize in the past you will 4, 5, 8 10, protest now has reduce to the bearest minimum even a team completely condemned because hired soldiers"

"but honestly, this year is not like that, even for that you have succeeded am looking forward for a better planning next year go back to the drawing board see where you have gone wrong and improve on I congratulate you for this year Alhamdulillah," he Prayed.

Earlier the Chairman Sports Writers Association of Nigeria Bauchi chapter SWAN Bala Bawaji expressed satisfaction for the encouragement and whole event, he also thanked all stakeholders who supported financially and morally, especially the state government through the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Mukhtar Muhammed  Gidado for their commitment towards the success of the week event, 

And thanked all media executives and participants who make sure they attended despite their tight schedule in office, we continue to partner for the growth and development of sports activities in the state.

   Medals Presentation 

Highlights of the closing ceremony was presentation of medals for the deserving participants in various games played during the long week event and presentation of the prestigious trophy in Football games as well, others received their medal with token cash prices who perform well in the athletics games as part of motivation.
