The Taraba State Police Command successfully rescued three kidnap victims following a swift response to a distress call from Sibre village in Ardo Kola Local Government Area.

According to the Command's spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Usman Jada, the incident occurred on December 6, 2024, at about 2:30 PM. A combined team of operatives from the Jalingo Area Command and local vigilantes pursued the kidnappers into the Kona Mountain Area near Dutse Mubayu.

The rescue operation escalated into a gunfight, with the kidnappers eventually overpowered by the superior firepower of the security team. The criminals fled the scene, abandoning the victims.

Fortunately, the three individuals—Idris Adamu (40), Umar Usman (22), and Ibrahim Usman (17)—were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their families.

The operatives also recovered a loaded AK-47 magazine containing 35 rounds of live ammunition during the operation.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ukachi P. Opara, praised the officers and vigilantes for their bravery and effective collaboration. He assured residents of the Command's commitment to maintaining security and directed operatives to intensify efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

The CP urged the public to remain calm and vigilant, emphasizing that the situation is under control.
