2023 POLLS: I Have no Regrets, Neither Apology, Declaring Binani as Gov. Elect
The former Resident Electoral Commissioner REC Mr. Yunusa Hudu Ari has re-emphasized that the governorship polls in Adamawa state in 2023 general election was won by Senator Aishatu Binani and the declaration is with no regrets neither apology to any one in doubt.
The former REC was speaking during an interactive chart with journalists in his resident recently, where he accused the election tribunal sitting in Adamawa state on allegedly unfair hearing during the proceedings.
The Ex-INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner for Adamawa state urged Nigerians not to be deluded by the concept of immunity under section 308 of the Nigerian constitution.
While stating this in reacting to some questions on why he decided to announce the final results and subsequent declaring the winner without his retuning officer at that time.
He also accused election tribunal which he alleged that has not given him fair hearing in his alleged electoral offence case.
Barrister Yunusa Hudu Ari while expressing concern with the conduct of election tribunal in Adamawa state for rejecting his evidence presented prior to his defence at the witness box.
He said it was unfortunate for an organized body such as INEC to use selfish interest in satisfying one individual above the interest of the nation.
Hudu Ari further lamented the attitude of the leadership of the independent national elecoral commission on the matter for not accepting his letter sent to the INEC chairman professor Mahmoud Yakubu while insisting that, Aisha Binani won the 2023 governorship election in the state
Ari further denied the allegations of collecting bribes to the tune of N2 billion naira while challenging any body to present their facts before any court of competent jurisdiction or the Nigerian public.
He also vehemently accused INEC and People's Democratic Party in Adamawa state of conniving with security agencies to disrupt the inconclusive rerun to satisfy their interest during the whole process at that time.
