Vote for Good Leaders Even If they are From Devil's Party--Malam Shekarau
The former governor of Kano state Senator Malam Ibrahim Shekarau has advised Nigerians to vote for good leaders in the next general elections irrespective of the party affiliations.
He made the revelation at the just concluded 27th edition of National Umma Convention organized by the National Islamic Center, held at Sultan Sa'ad Abubakar Hajj Camp in Bauchi.
The former Governor who said the challenges facing the Muslim Umma are surmountable, while advising Nigerians to elect only people of proven integrity during elections.
"I advise that people should vote for good leaders even if they are from the Devil's party".
In his part the chairman National Muslim Umma Professor Muhammad Babangida Muhammad who explained that the National Islamic Center Zaria was founded in 1980 as an outfit of the Umma Movement by the members of the Muslim Students Society who wished to continue to serve their community after school days.
Mohammed said in the five decades of its existence, the Muslim Umma has promoted unity, good governance and national cohesion.
On national security, the Umma National Chairman expressed concern about the deteriorating nature of security in Nigeria.
"Governments at all levels should prioritize agriculture and skills acquisition to curb the incessant youths involvement in nefarious activities".
