BAUCHI — The All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate for the 2027 general election in Bauchi State, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN, has said he will make further comments once the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, officially lifts the ban on electioneering campaigns.
Abubakar stated this on Tuesday during the flag-off of fertilizer distribution to APC members at the party’s state secretariat in Bauchi.
According to him, the support consists of 20:10:10 NPK fertilizer, totaling 10 truckloads. The inputs have been deposited in designated warehouses for onward distribution to party farmers across the 20 local government areas under the Tinubu/Shettima and M.A/Farouk Campaign Organizations.
The former governor said the distribution is aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring a bumper harvest in the state.
He added that the gesture aligns with the APC’s tradition of reducing hardship among members and providing essential farming inputs to promote food security.
“Campaign time is approaching. I urge our supporters to remain calm and focused on winning the 2027 elections instead of engaging in unnecessary confrontation with opponents,” Abubakar said.
He also charged party leaders to demonstrate maturity in handling the distribution of the fertilizer to beneficiaries across the 20 LGAs.
Also speaking, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, commended Abubakar for the initiative, describing it as an act of statesmanship to support farmers during the wet season.
Dogara urged beneficiaries to use the fertilizer judiciously and extend support to family members in need, in order to reduce poverty through increased agricultural output in the state.
Earlier, the State APC Chairman, Mohammad Hassan Tilde, appreciated Abubakar for the gesture. He said the APC remains the party to beat in 2027, noting that their style of leadership ensures such commodities get to actual farmers, unlike others where inputs end up with politicians not engaged in agriculture.
LGA party officials also lauded the initiative and pledged to mobilize votes for Abubakar and all APC candidates “from top to bottom” in the 2027 elections.
Other stakeholders at the event also pledged their support for the party’s victory in the 2027 general elections across the state.
