The National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign team in Bauchi has introduced a new ward-based coordination system to improve supervision and communication across 12 wards outside the state capital.
Under the arrangement, five supervisors will oversee mobilisation activities, with each supervisor assigned to two or three wards.
The Director-General of the campaign, Ibrahim Ladan Wunti, announced the structure during the inauguration of the supervisors in Bauchi on Wednesday.
He said the initiative followed consultations with representatives of the 12 wards on how to improve grassroots engagement and voter mobilisation.
The wards were grouped into five clusters: Liman Katagum, Mun and Munsal; Zungur, Dan’dango and Yamrat; Kangere and Gwaskwaram; Turwun, Kundum and Durum; and Birshi and Miri.
Wunti said the new structure would provide a clearer chain of coordination and make it easier for the campaign to monitor activities at the ward level.
He disclosed that each ward would nominate 10 youths – five males and five females – for house-to-house mobilisation and sensitisation.
He added that Malam Bala had been appointed Coordinator/Representative for the area and would oversee youth and women mobilisation.
According to him, the participation of youths and women is expected to strengthen the campaign’s grassroots presence and improve communication between ward teams and the campaign leadership.
He expressed confidence that the arrangement would enhance supervision and ensure effective coordination across the wards.
Also speaking, the NDC House of Representatives candidate, Sodangi Adam Chindo, thanked supporters for their backing and pledged to work collectively with stakeholders to achieve the campaign’s objectives.
Chindo said his agenda prioritises security, health, education, agriculture, representation and economic empowerment.
