JALINGO — Distinguished Senator Emmanuel Bwacha has officially unveiled Engr. Aminu Zakari as his running mate for the 2027 Taraba State governorship election, declaring that the ticket represents “a new possibility” and a call to restore hope, unity, and trustworthy leadership in the state.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Jalingo, Bwacha said the event was not just about presenting a deputy, but an invitation to Tarabans to “believe again in the promise of Taraba State.” He described Engr. Zakari as a man of competence, integrity, and a strong public service record, chosen “not because it was politically convenient, but because the moment demanded character over connections.”
The event drew PDP leaders, members of the Bwacha Campaign Council, royal fathers, religious leaders, party elders, and members of the press. Bwacha and Zakari addressed the gathering as the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for 2027.
Bwacha said he answered the call to return to politics after listening to farmers, graduates, mothers, and workers who demanded roads, jobs, schools, and healthcare. He promised a government focused on agriculture, education, healthcare, enterprise, and infrastructure, built on integrity and results rather than budget size.
“The greatest cry of our people is not for another politician. It is for trustworthy leadership,” he stated.
The senator urged Tarabans to reject “the politics of fear and division” and to choose unity, purpose, and hope. He emphasized youth inclusion, saying “the future cannot wait,” and that the ticket sends a message of service over self.
He called on citizens, youths, women, farmers, civil servants, and traditional rulers to join in building a Taraba “where no child is limited by circumstances of birth and no community is forgotten because of geography.”
Bwacha concluded with prayers for families in Taraba, the state, and Nigeria, saying history would remember this generation for “choosing the future over the past.”
