DUTSE— The Jigawa State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, JPCACC, and the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen institutional capacity and enhance anti-corruption efforts in Nigeria.
The MoU was signed on recently at NILDS Permanent Site in Abuja
Speaking at the event, JPCACC Executive Chairman, Barrister Salisu Abdu, said the agreement followed discussions that began in April 2026. He noted that technical teams from both institutions developed a framework for cooperation in capacity building, training, research, and policy development.
“Our mandate is to address public complaints, prevent corruption and deliver responsive public service through professionalism and accountability,” Abdu said. He added that the partnership will expose JPCACC officers to global best practices in governance, ethics, investigative techniques and alternative dispute resolution.
Abdu commended Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, for supporting institutional reforms and the creation of JPCACC under Law No. 1 of 2022. He pledged to ensure the MoU translates into measurable outcomes for the people of Jigawa.
NILDS Director-General, Prof. Abubakar O. Sulaiman, described the partnership as a step toward strengthening democratic governance. He said the challenge facing public institutions was not a lack of laws, but effective implementation by competent professionals.
“The MoU will facilitate specialized training and knowledge exchange to improve service delivery and accountability,” Sulaiman stated.
