BAUCHI — The Bala Wunti Support Organisation, BWSO, has felicitated with its Founder, Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, describing the milestone as a celebration of a life defined by visionary leadership, selfless service, philanthropy and commitment to human and community development.
This was disclosed in a press release signed by the organisation’s Public Relations Officer, Kamal Ibrahim, and issued on Friday.
The Chief Executive Officer of BWSO, Malam Mukhtar Ahmad Jarmajo, said the diamond jubilee offers an opportunity to celebrate a leader whose investments in education, healthcare, youth and women empowerment, humanitarian support and community development have transformed countless lives across Bauchi State and beyond.
Jarmajo noted that the qualities of integrity, strategic vision, excellence and transformational leadership that have distinguished Dr. Wunti throughout his career have earned him admiration at home and international recognition.
He said these attributes culminated in Dr. Wunti’s recent appointment as Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Member Committee of the World Energy Council, WEC Nigeria. The appointment was welcomed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who congratulated Dr. Wunti alongside the inaugural Chairman and Board members on Nigeria’s admission into the global energy body.
According to Jarmajo, in a State House press release dated August 7, 2026, President Tinubu described Dr. Wunti as “one of Nigeria’s finest energy strategists and reform champions,” whose more than three decades of exemplary service, marked by integrity and strategic vision, have driven landmark reforms that enhanced national revenues and restored investor confidence in Nigeria’s energy sector.
He added that the presidential commendation underscores the global esteem in which Dr. Wunti’s leadership and expertise are held.
Jarmajo further stated that Dr. Wunti’s exemplary leadership, humility and compassion continue to shape the philosophy and mission of BWSO, inspiring a growing movement dedicated to service, inclusive development and sustainable solutions to societal challenges.
He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to advancing these ideals through impactful programmes and strategic community engagements.
“BWSO remains resolute in preserving and deepening Dr. Wunti’s enduring legacy by promoting initiatives that empower communities, strengthen human capital and encourage responsible leadership,” Jarmajo said. “We are confident that his vision will continue to inspire future generations to embrace service as a catalyst for meaningful development.”
