Bauchi NOA, NYCN Hold Strategic Summit to Curb Insecurity

National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in partnership with National Orientation Agency (NOA) Bauchi is to convene Security Summit: Youths and Security Agencies Strategic Dialogue Towards Curbing Insecurity to held at the Ahmadu Bello International Conference government house Bauchi on Thursday.

The state Director of NOA Alhaji Nasiru Mahe, made this known at a press briefing ahead of the summit at the Federal Secretariat conference hall Bauchi on Wednesday.

Also the Director-General of the Agency Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, is expected to deliver keynote address while the Governor of Bauchi State Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed would declare the strategic summit open.

The NOA Director, who was represented by Adamu Umar Sarkin’yara, Deputy Director and HOD Community Outreach & Development, explained that the summit is about building Peace and security across Bauchi

The state Director emphasized that during the summit, will include the inauguration of 200 Youth Peace Ambassadors and sign the Bauchi Youth-Security Social Contract – a public, binding commitment by NYCN, CP, Brigade Commander, Emir of Bauchi, BACYWORD, and others.

Almustapha Kasim Gital Deputy National Secretary General National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) explained that the objective of the summit is to examine the root causes of insecurity and propose practical, community-driven solutions.

“Security remains a fundamental pillar for sustainable development, peace, and societal progress. In recent times, the challenges of insecurity have continued to demand collective action, strategic thinking, and inclusive engagement of all stakeholders, particularly the youth who constitute a significant proportion of our population.

They also commended the state governor for unwavering commitment and proactive leadership in promoting peace and strengthening security architecture in the state.

“When young people are engaged, empowered, and included, they become powerful agents of peace rather than instruments of conflict.” he said.
