Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has announced that his administration is entering the next phase of governance focused on expanding economic opportunities, strengthening institutions, and improving service delivery as the state marks three years of his leadership on May 29, 2026.
In a public address delivered in Jalingo on Thursday, the governor said the administration has approved ₦5 million for youth empowerment programs and the construction of new roads across the state. He added that feasibility studies are ongoing for additional infrastructure projects.
Kefas noted that his government inherited “serious challenges” in 2023, including insecurity, dilapidated infrastructure, and a weak civil service. He said deliberate reforms, investments in education and healthcare, and improved security coordination have since stabilized the state.
“Three years on, we have laid the foundation. The next phase is consolidation — expanding opportunities for our young people, strengthening our institutions, and ensuring every community feels the impact of government,” he said.
The governor listed key achievements to include the rehabilitation of schools and primary health centers, recruitment of teachers and health workers, road construction in Jalingo, Wukari, and Takum, and the launch of agricultural support schemes for farmers.
He also announced plans to establish a state ICT hub and expand vocational training centers to equip youths with skills for employment and entrepreneurship.
Kefas commended traditional rulers, security agencies, and citizens for their support and urged residents to maintain peace as the administration rolls out new projects.
“Taraba’s best days are ahead of us. With unity and hard work, we will build a state that works for all,” he concluded.
