The new Taraba State Police Command Headquarters complex and B Division, Yorro, were commissioned Tuesday, June 24, 2026, on behalf of Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas by CP Cyril Agyole Abeh, rtd.
Dignitaries present included CP Moorkwap Sebastian Dongshal, representing the Inspector General of Police; Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Alhaji Muhammad Sheidu; government officials, traditional rulers, senior police officers and community leaders.
The state-of-the-art police command headquarters complex and B Division, Yorro, facility was officially commissioned to strengthen policing infrastructure and operational effectiveness in Taraba State. The IGP’s representative said the facilities would enhance command administration, intelligence management, operational coordination and rapid response to security challenges.
The commissioning ceremony was held Tuesday, June 24, 2026, at the new Taraba State Police Command Headquarters complex and B Division, Yorro, in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
According to officials, the project is a major milestone toward addressing infrastructure gaps, improving the welfare and efficiency of personnel, and boosting security and development in the state. Governor Kefas reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting security agencies. The police command pledged continued professional, intelligence-led and community-oriented policing to protect lives and property.
The command also appreciated the Inspector General of Police, Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Taraba State Government, traditional institutions and former Governor Rev. Jolly Tavoro Nyame for donating the land where the headquarters stands.
