The All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial candidate for Bauchi State in the 2027 general elections, M.A. Abubakar, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring a second term for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Abubakar spoke on Saturday during the party’s maiden mega rally held at the Central Stadium in Azare, which also witnessed the defection of over 160,000 members from other political parties to the APC across the state.
The former governor of Bauchi State led party members, stakeholders, and a large crowd of supporters to the event. He said the party would work together to secure victory for the APC in Bauchi despite the presence of other political parties.
“The APC belongs to the people of Bauchi,” Abubakar said. “I hope the momentum of love and support from the electorate will continue as we prepare to take our campaign to every nook and cranny of the state.”
He added that with the wave of defections and growing support, the APC would win elections at all levels in 2027, and urged party members to cooperate toward that goal.
“We have done it before and we are ready to do it again,” he said. “What we are determined to do is what we have always done as far as the APC government is concerned.”
“Our own is quite different. It is not just talk. What we say is what we do, by the grace of God. I believe Azare is my stronghold. I started here and I won an election. This time around, I am starting here again, and from here it is straight to the Government House.”
Abubakar also appreciated APC aspirants who contested but did not win the party primaries for remaining loyal to the party.
“I assure you all, when we say yes, it is yes. When we pledge to do something, we execute it, because we have done it before and you witnessed it,” he said.
He urged Bauchi voters to support President Tinubu, himself as governor, and all APC candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives, and State Assembly.
He concluded with prayers for the safety of all attendees and thanked them for coming out in large numbers.
