ACReSAL Promotes Community Participation, Safeguards in Doma Gully Project
...Stakeholders Pledge Support for Erosion Control Intervention

The Gombe State ACReSAL Focal NGO, Jewel Environmental Initiative, has conducted a sensitization programme for stakeholders in communities benefiting from the GGC Doma Gully Intervention Project to ensure community ownership and smooth implementation.
The engagement focused on project ownership, gender mainstreaming, and safety safeguard protocols aimed at enhancing community participation and sustaining the gains of the intervention.
Speaking during the event, traditional and religious leaders commended the rapid progress recorded in the erosion control works and pledged full support and cooperation for the successful execution of the project.
In his goodwill message, the District Head of Bogo praised Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his commitment to environmental protection and public safety.
He described the gully intervention as a life-saving initiative that would significantly improve the well-being of residents in affected communities.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Grievance Redress Mechanism, GRM, Committee lauded the ACReSAL Project Coordinator, Dr. Sani Adamu Jauro, for his dedication and leadership in the project’s implementation.
Representing the Project Coordinator of Jewel Environmental Initiative, the Social and Livelihood Officer, Danladi Aliyu, expressed appreciation to Governor Yahaya and Dr. Jauro for their contributions to environmental sustainability and development in Gombe State.
He reaffirmed the initiative’s commitment to environmental protection, community engagement, and sustainable support for interventions that improve residents’ livelihoods.
Addressing participants on behalf of the project coordinator, the Communication and Mobilization Officer, Mr. Richard James, urged community members to continue partnering with the Gombe State Government and ACReSAL to achieve the project’s objectives and ensure long-term success.
The sensitization programme is part of ongoing efforts by the Gombe State ACReSAL Project and its partners to promote environmental resilience, community participation, and sustainable development across the state.
