APM Guber Candidate Donates ₦21 Million to Bara Flood, Shira Windstorm Victims

The Bauchi State governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, Dr. Yakubu Adamu, has donated ₦21 million to support victims of flood in Bara community, Kirfi Local Government Area, and windstorm in Shira Local Government Area.
Adamu made the donation during separate visits to the affected communities, where he expressed sympathy and solidarity with residents who suffered losses from the two natural disasters.
At Bara community in Kirfi LGA, flood triggered by torrential rainfall from east down to the town claimed the lives of Aishatu Sagir and her granddaughter, Rahama Sagir. The flood destroyed more than 360 houses and several walls, damaged farmlands, killed livestock, and left hundreds of residents displaced and sleeping in mosques and schools.
During a sympathy visit to the community, Yakubu Adamu described the deaths of the two family members as heartbreaking and announced a donation of ₦10 million to victims and ₦1 million to the bereaved family.
He prayed to Allah to ease their suffering, reward their faith and patience, and forgive the deceased.
The District Head of Bara, Alhaji Muhammad Abdullahi Bara, expressed gratitude to the APM governorship candidate on behalf of the community.
He said the timely intervention would alleviate the suffering of families affected by economic and physical losses.
Residents of Bara praised Yakubu Adamu for the visit, describing his prompt response as a demonstration of compassionate, responsible and proactive leadership during an emergency.
In Shira LGA, the APM governorship candidate donated ₦10 million to support families affected by a heavy windstorm that destroyed homes and property.
The gesture targets communities including Dango, Disina and Zubo, where many families were left in distress after the disaster caused severe damage to shelters and means of livelihood.
Dr. Yakubu Adamu said he was shocked by the destruction and shared the pains of affected communities, urging them to accept it as destiny from Allah.
Adamu said leadership is not only about words but about showing genuine concern, taking action and responding to the needs of people when they need it most.
He said natural disasters such as windstorms and floods can leave lasting hardship on communities and called for collective responsibility among leaders, organisations and individuals to support victims.
Adamu assured affected families that they were not alone, and said the financial assistance was aimed at providing urgent relief and helping victims begin recovery from the destruction.
He called on relevant authorities, organisations and well-meaning individuals to extend support to victims of natural disasters, noting that collective efforts are essential in rebuilding affected communities.
Residents of the affected communities appreciated the gesture, describing it as timely and a sign of compassion toward people facing hardship.
They said it was a demonstration of kindness, empathy and responsible leadership, and assured that the assistance would go a long way in easing their suffering and helping them restore their homes and lively hood
