The National Leadership of the Association of Kautal Fulaku Waila Harmony has expressed deep concern over the continued detention of Alhaji Bello Badejo by the Department of State Services, DSS, despite a bail order granted by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The National Leader of the Association, Alhaji Bello Buba Ningi, who led members in a press briefing in Bauchi on Saturday, described the situation as unfortunate and demanded Badejo’s immediate release.

He said the statement was in defence of the fundamental rights and liberty of every Nigerian citizen who may find themselves in a similar situation.
“The President of the Association categorically states that every Nigerian deserves fundamental rights and protection before a competent court of law,” Ningi said.
“We respectfully urge the appropriate authorities to ensure that the leadership of the DSS provides a clear and lawful explanation as to why Alhaji Abdullahi Badejo was further arrested and detained after the federal high court had granted him bail and applicable bail condition had reportedly been fulfilled”
“We equally call upon the relevant oversight institutions of government to examine the circumstances surrounding his further detention and ensure that his fundamental rights are protected”, he maintained.
“We make reference to this not as a substitute for the rule of law or as evidence that he can never be investigated , but to emphasize that every citizen is entitled to the presumption of innocent and to have his case determined by a competent court on the basis of evidence”
The association noted that Badejo is widely regarded as a preacher of peace, tolerance, unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
It stressed that despite his further arrest and detention, all his followers and supporters across Nigeria remain committed to the peaceful approach which Alhaji Abdullahi Badejo has consistently advocated.
The group called on the DSS and relevant authorities to respect the court order and release Badejo without further delay.
