The Sole Administrator of Wikki Tourists Football Club, Haruna Bako, has sought the cooperation and support of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Bauchi State Chapter, in his bid to reposition the club.
Bako made the appeal during a meeting with SWAN members at the NUJ Secretariat recently in Bauchi.
He said his administration is open to constructive contributions from sports writers and other stakeholders, stressing that their support is critical to the development of the club.
The Sole Administrator disclosed that the management has engaged sports marketing companies to explore ways of rebranding Wikki Tourists and making the club more attractive and marketable.
He also revealed that discussions are ongoing with some foreign partners as part of efforts to improve the club’s visibility and commercial value.
Responding, the SWAN Chairman in Bauchi State, Bala Bawaji, assured the new management of the association’s support and cooperation.
Bawaji urged the Sole Administrator to regard sports writers as partners in progress and to carry the media along in all activities of the club.
Members of SWAN also called on the new management to effectively utilize the club’s Media Officer as the official communication channel between the club and the media.
