...CP Directs Homicide Section to Take Over Case
The Bauchi State Police Command has commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Jemimah Dutse, former APC Women Leader for Bauchi South.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command SP Nafiu Habib.
According to the Command, at about 2:07pm on 3rd October, 2026, a 49-year-old man from Muazu New Layout, Yelwa, reported at ‘E’ Division that the lifeless body of the deceased was found in a pool of blood inside her residence at Muazu New Layout, Yelwa, with her throat slit by yet-to-be-identified assailant(s).
Upon receipt of the report, detectives attached to ‘E’ Division promptly visited the scene, documented it, and evacuated the body to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, for medical examination and autopsy.
Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has directed the immediate transfer of the case to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet and thorough investigation aimed at unraveling the circumstances surrounding the murder and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
The Command commiserated with the family, friends, and political associates of the deceased and assured the public that no stone will be left unturned to ensure justice is served, adding that further developments will be communicated as investigation progresses.
